Dispositional Alternatives Program (DAP)Dispositional Alternative is a legal term that refers to a judge’s decision to give a youthful offender an alternative to incarceration or an out-of-home placement. DAP is a contractual program with Family & Children's Services and the Department of Social Services. DAP caseworkers provide thorough and consistent support for youth and their families for 6 to 9 months. This allows for the creation of trust and development of rapport between the caseworker and youth.
