KidsPeace Psychiatric Hospital is a children's hospital, dedicated solely to addressing the unique mental and behavioral health care needs of children experiencing severe crises. Facilities include on-site classrooms, indoor and outdoor athletic facilities and common rooms. The Hospital provides short-term programs tailored to children, preadolescents, teens and young adults ages 18-21.

The MHLS provides representation, without charge, to patients in psychiatric hospitals and residents of developmental centers who need legal advice or assistance concerning their institutionalization. Advocacy is provided for individuals in private as well as state operated facilities. The MHLS also serves as appointed legal counsel in Kendra's Law proceedings. The agency also is frequently appointed as court evaluator or legal counsel in guardianship proceedings under Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law.
