The Alcohol & Drug Council of Tompkins County, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit agency which provides comprehensive evaluations, treatment in the form of individual and group counseling, education and prevention services, and referral to alcohol and chemical abuse/dependency.
Education and Prevention programs include, but are not limited to:
- Peer Education Program
- Drinking Driver Program
- BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening & Intervention for College Students)

Nurses Association, NYS, SPAN (Statewide Peer Assistance for Nurses)
The confidential Statewide Peer Assistance for Nurses (SPAN) program offers peer support, links to community resources, educational programming and advocacy for New York State-licensed registered nurses and licensed practical nurses affected by alcohol and drug-related problems.
SPAN:
- provides one-to-one mentoring
- operatores peer support groups throughout the state
- links nurses with appropriate community resources
- presents educational programming for individuals and organizations concerned about the impact of alcohol and drug-related problems on the nurse workforce
- advocates for program participants with employers and regulatory agencies
