Emotions Anonymous addresses problems involving love, grief, anger, dysfunctional families, resentment, and feelings like divorce, breaking-up, and the death of a loved one. Members use a 12-step program to reach serenity. Meetings:
  • Sunday: 7:30 pm, Ithaca Recovery Center, 518 W. Seneca St.
  • Tuesday: 8 pm, Unitarian Church annex basement, 306 N. Aurora St.

Liberty Resources, Inc., was founded in 1978 by citizens who wished to develop community based services in Madison County. Today, Liberty Resources continues to expand its geographic reach and scope of services. Program Supervisor
Multisystemic Therapy (MST), an intensive family- and community-based treatment program, addresses the sources of serious antisocial behavior in juvenile offenders to eliminate need for out-of-home placement. MST interventions aim to:
  • improve caregiver discipline practices
  • enhance family relations
  • decrease associations with deviant peers and increase interactions with pro-social peers
  • improve school or vocational performance
  • engage youth in positive recreational outlets
  • develop a network of extended family, neighbors and friends to support caregivers

Case Supervisor
Youth and Family Services unit specializes in preventive and foster care services for Tompkins County adolescent youth and their families, such as:
  • working with families to prevent out-of-home placement of an at-risk child
  • working with youth placed in foster care by Family Court because of PINS/JD behaviors. Foster care placements include:
    • family foster care
    • group home care
    • residential care
    • treatment foster care
  • sub-programs include:
    • multi-systemic therapy
    • youth advocacy program
    • sex offense evaluations
    • William George Agency Therapeutic After School Program for boys at high risk of residential placement
  • managing detention placements for Tompkins County youth
