    . The Binghamton Clinic offers these services:

    Primary Care Services: provided by Board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners.
    Home Based Primary Care (HBPC): veterans may qualify for home services such as medication management, dressing changes, diabetic/cardiac education, blood draws and some injectable medications. RNs, LPN, Nurse Practitioners and social workers work collaboratively with primary care providers.
    Behavioral Health Care: social workers and psychiatrists provide individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy and medication therapy for veterans with personal and emotional problems, including drug and alcohol issues.
    Smoking Cessation: QuitSmart smoking cessation program, an innovative service combining behavioral and medication treatments in a group setting.
    Specialty Services: include optometry, podiatry and gastro-intestinal clinics

    Laboratory: blood drawing
    Prescriptions: routine prescriptions provided through the mail. Limited supply of some medications, such as antibiotics, available at the clinic.
    Radiology: chest, abdominal and extremity x-rays available nearby or offsite, with primary care provider referral.
    Parking: free parking. Handicapped spaces located near clinic entrance. Additional parking in Lots A, B and C.
    Patients requiring more specialized tests will be sent by their health care providers to the VA Health Care Center in Syracuse.
    Some transportation services are available through a cooperative effort of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the VA Syracuse Shuttle Service.

    The VA Community Outpatient Clinic offers primary care services for veterans in Cortland and Tompkins Counties) Services include:
    • Mobile Outreach and Transition Team (MOTT):provides short-term case management and therapy to veterans, working to remove barriers to treatment and helping them identify their strengths, resources, and community supports. Helps veterans determine eligibility for services, connects them with those services and ensure they receive the care they deserve
    • Health care: primary health care services, routine diagnostic procedures and dietary services at the clinic. specialized medical needs are treated at the VA Health Care Network in Upstate New York, Syracuse
    • Laboratory: blood drawing and analysis
    • Prescriptions: routine prescriptions filled through the mail; emergency medicines provided
    • Radiology: chest, abdominal and extremity x-rays available on site

    • Transportation: Van is NOT wheelchair accessible; veteran must be able to get from front door to van without assistance. Crutches, walkers, canes can be used. Seventy-two (72) hour notice is required.

    The Syracuse VA Center counsels combat veterans who need help re-adjusting to civilian life and victims of military sexual trauma. Veterans who served in a combat zone and received a military campaign ribbon and their family members are eligible for the program.
