Health Care Bureau is part of the Division of Social Justice. Bureau dedicated to informing citizens of their health care rights and benefits they are entitled to. Health Care Bureau can help you: challenge health insurers that won't cover provided costs; navigate the complex Health Care system; target health care organizations that have fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive practices; provide outreach to educate New Yorkers about their health care rights. The bureau also is pushing for laws, regulations and policies that enhance the rights of health care consumers. Option3 Helpline: helps claim your benefits when an HMO denies you coverage; will assist with health care billing and payment problems; help obtain guaranteed benefits; investigate lost insurance coverage.

An on-line legal information clearinghouse, LawHelp/NY provides quick and accurate referrals to free civil legal services programs, public interest law offices, basic information about legal rights, self-help information, court information, links to social services agencies, and more, throughout New York State.
